Hello lovely team!

Just a couple of things that I think will be good for you to know.

- As per the the above, the ceremony is at Alowyn Gardens which is essentially a privately owned garden/nursery. I don't believe there is access to power in the spot we are having the ceremony, which is called the French Gardens. The venue will be shut for our ceremony, and there is a car park available on site. I'm not sure if you have played their before, but if you haven't Laura has worked a wedding there before, so I'm sure she could answer any questions you have.
- Our wet weather option if it rains is to move the ceremony to Hubert Estate (our reception venue). We would have the ceremony in the art gallery there which is indoors and there is access to power. If we had to move the ceremony back to Hubert it would commence at 5pm (not 4.30pm), with guests arriving in the 30 minutes before.
- Assuming all goes well, guests will be arriving at the Gardens between 4pm-4.30pm. Most will be arriving by bus and I am hoping at will be around the 4.10-4.15pm mark. I think there will be some sparking water and wine available prior to the ceremony for guests to sip on. The ceremony is due to commence at 4.30pm and I'm not 100% sure how long it will go for, but we have allocated an hour to be safe. After the ceremony guests will make their way straight to Hubert Estate (again most of them will be going by bus) for a 6pm start there for canapes and drinks.
- Our ceremony is actually a religious (catholic) service, despite it not being in a church. We have a retired priest as our celebrant. It will not be a full catholic mass but rather a service. Our celebrant has probably not been as prescriptive with us as perhaps non religious celebrants are, so we are running with little information in this sense and we are not able to have a rehearsal. If there is any information I can confirm for you before the day, please let me know, and I will ask!
- I have mentioned to Leighton that James will be walking down the aisle with his mum, followed by my bridesmaids and then me. Given we want to do this, and I have 5 bridesmaids, we are thinking we will need two songs. We were speaking to Laura about how this would work, and we would want there to be a stop/ pause between James walking down and then the bridesmaids + me come down. The song we want James to walk down to is Simply the Best, and the song I want to walk down to is Halo. Given we want the pause in between James and the bridemaids/me, I am not sure how best to do it. I am happy to be guided by you, but at this point I was thinking Simply the Best for James (obviously not the whole song), and then Halo for the girls and me so it is more seemless.
